What's old is new again at the movies. Number-one at the box office this weekend: The Fall Guy, inspired by the 1980s TV show and starring Ryan Gosling. The Fall Guy took in 28 and a half million dollars, and Disney’s re-release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace came in a surprising number-two with just over eight-million dollars.

I want to acknowledge a loss last week in the rock-and-roll world. E-L-O keyboardist Richard Tandy has died. Tandy originally joined Electric Light Orchestra in 1972 and had a lot to do with the band's trademark sound. His work on piano, clavinet and synthesizers can be heard on hits from "Evil Woman" and "Strange Magic" to "Livin' Thing" and "Telephone Line." And it's Tandy's vocoder-altered voice on "Mr. Blue Sky." E-L-O founder Jeff Lynne broke the news on social media, calling Tandy "a remarkable musician and friend." Richard Tandy was 76.

The first Monday of May is here, which means it's almost time for fashion's biggest night of the year. The Met Gala is set to take place tonight in New York City. This year's theme is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" and Vogue has hinted that the dress code, inspired by the short story "The Garden of Time," will see many botanical and floral looks. Although the guest list is kept under wraps, some Met Gala regulars like Blake Lively, Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian will likely be on the red carpet.

Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger started things up with Louisiana's Republican Governor Jeff Landry last week. During an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Thursday, Jagger claimed Landry's policies were taking Louisiana back to the Stone Age. In an X post, Landry said Jagger might be the "only person" old enough to "remember the Stone Age." The governor closed out the message by telling Jagger that he's always welcome in Louisiana.

The legend of the bee expert credited with saving an Arizona Diamondbacks game last week is growing. The beehive was noticed just ahead of Arizona's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers and had to be delayed nearly two hours until Matt Hilton removed the bees from the protective netting behind home plate. He ended up throwing out the first pitch and the Diamondbacks went on to win. Topps then announced Hilton was getting his own baseball card. The special card was available for 24 hours and went for nine dollars on the Topps website. Some fans even got an autographed version.
